The Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants (MECPA) is a statewide not-for-profit professional organization representing nearly 1,000 CPAs in business, education, government and public accounting. As trusted advisors for both businesses and individuals, MECPA members meet strict requirements and embrace the highest standards of professional and ethical practice.
Our purpose is to help our members succeed professionally, while being mindful of serving the public. Founded in 1924, the Association:

Leadership & Staff
A 10-member Board of Governors provides strategic leadership for the Association, while our professional staff manages support services and professional development. In addition, MECPA members volunteer on task forces, ranging in scope from advocacy to professional ethics, from industry and government accounting to accounting standards and taxes.

MECPA provides articles and news releases to Maine media. In addition, CPAs are available to speak on a broad range of topics.
